Yoga Nidra means deep yogic sleep where you come into a state between sleep and wakefulness. This practice relaxes the entire physio-psychological system by triggering the parasympathetic nervous system. This simple practice, that takes very little effort, rejuvenates the body and mind and can induce sleep in the case of insomnia and can boost brain power due to lack of sleep. This almost 1/2 hour practice equates to 2-3 hours of sleep and it increases an overall sense of well being, reduces anxiety levels, stress, inflammation and cortisol levels while bringing in feelings of joy and contentment, enhancing memory and learning while awakening creativity.
